What do you learn from Ben Leach’s article about the issues and concerns regarding the building of wind farms?

This online article is about the plan to build turbines in one of six beautiful landscape across the UK.
A Wind turbine is a energy producing machine, it converts kinetic energy form the wind into machine energy the turning of the rotors and then turns the machinery energy into electrical. It creates energy from a renewable resource wind, this creates no carbon emission at all when creating electricity unlike nuclear and coal power.Wind farm developer are the people how are creating these turbines. They have to apply for a planning permission before the start building.
Wing turbines are at the best were there lots of wing, those types of places are near the coast or open space. These places have amazing views and landscape…………..

This is a good attempt at describing the content of the article. The first section is a little heavy on description of how wind power works, which is not a key point in the article which largely assumes that the reader has an understanding of this.

The second section, where you list the arguments for and against wind farms shows that you appreciate that there are two sides to the discussion, but to achieve the higher grades you must explain this difference of opinion.

Essentially these questions are asking you to show that you both understand the facts of the article and are able to determine the position or ideas of people who may be described or reported in the article based on the things they are reported to say.

It would have worked better if you’d used the time exploring the two representatives of the two sides of the argument and evaluated the quality and implications of their argument.

You might notice that one is speaking more from the impact the wind farms might have on him personally, the other is talking about the wider good. This is an underlying idea, that if you are able to reveal, will allow you to gain the highest grades.
